You can now connect your own domain to use for your Cohere website and landing pages, alongside the existing ability to connect a domain for email marketing. This means your services website, service landing pages, and lead magnets can all live at your branded URL instead of a Cohere subdomain.

Note: DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate, depending on your domain provider. Once the records have updated, return to Cohere and verify your domain. If your website or landing page CNAME records are verified but the domain is still not connected, your domain provider may also require you to add the A record provided by Cohere before the domain can be successfully verified.
What is new
Until now, connecting a domain in Cohere was focused on email marketing. You can now also connect your domain for:
- Your Cohere services website. Visitors see yourname.com instead of a Cohere subdomain.
- Your service landing pages and lead magnets. Your services and lead magnets live at branded URLs like yourname.com/business-coaching or yourname.com/free-guide.
You can use one domain for everything (email, website, and landing pages), or use separate domains for different purposes. A new Domains tab in your Account Settings brings all of this into one place.
The three setup types
When you start connecting a domain, you will choose one of three setup types:
- Email Marketing Setup. Existing capability. Use your domain to send emails from addresses like hello@yourname.com. This setup also lets you connect the same domain for landing pages in a second step.
- Website + Landing Pages. New. Use your domain for your Cohere services website and landing pages so visitors see yourname.com.

Landing Pages Only. New. Use a subdomain like go.yourname.com for your Cohere landing pages, while your main website stays hosted elsewhere.
Where you can start a domain connection
You will find entry points to connect a domain in several places across Cohere. Wherever you start, you will be routed into the right setup flow.
- Business Dashboard. A Connect your domain card appears under quick actions if you have not connected a domain yet.
- My Account, Domains tab. The new central place to manage every domain you have connected.
- Campaigns and Email Sequences. A welcome panel appears the first time you enter Email Marketing, with a Connect Domain button.
- Customize Links modal. Helper copy appears when you are customizing a landing page link and have not connected a domain yet.
- Website Builder. The My Platform Domain panel includes a Connect Your Domain button when you have not yet verified a website domain.
If you start from a place that already implies a setup type (for example, Website Builder), the relevant setup type is preselected. Otherwise, you will see all three setup types to choose from.
Setup: Website + Landing Pages
Use this setup when you want your Cohere website and service landing pages to live at your domain (for example, yourname.com).
Step 1: Start the setup
Open My Account, Domains, and click Connect Domain. Choose Website + Landing Pages and click Next.
Step 2: Enter your domain
Enter your existing domain (for example, yourname.com) and click Next. Your domain should be entered without the www prefix.
Step 3: Add the DNS records
Cohere will generate a set of DNS records that you need to add at your domain provider. You can copy individual records or all of them at once using the Copy All To Clipboard button.
Step 4: Verify
Once you have added the records at your DNS provider, click I've added these records. A confirmation modal will appear letting you know that verification is in progress.
Verification can take a few minutes, but in some cases up to 24 hours depending on your domain provider. Cohere will automatically check your DNS and update the status as soon as your domain is verified.
Step 5: Set as primary website domain (optional)
During setup, you can choose to set this domain as your primary website domain. If you do, your Cohere Website Builder will start showing this domain as the URL for your services website.
You can also change your primary website domain later from My Account, Website.
Setup: Landing Pages Only
Use this setup if your main website is hosted somewhere else and you only want a subdomain to serve your Cohere landing pages.
When to use this setup
Choose Landing Pages Only when:
- Your business website is built on another platform (for example, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix).
- You want a branded URL for Cohere landing pages and lead magnets without affecting your main site.
Subdomain required
This setup requires a subdomain (for example, go.yourname.com, app.yourname.com, or get.yourname.com). The root domain alone is not supported because that domain still needs to point to your main website.
Setup steps
The steps mirror Website + Landing Pages setup:
- Choose Landing Pages Only and click Next.
- Enter your subdomain.
- Add the DNS records Cohere provides at your DNS provider.
- Click I've added these records to start verification.
If you previously authenticated your root domain for Email Marketing and now want to use Landing Pages Only, you will be prompted to choose or enter a subdomain before DNS records are shown. This protects your existing website from being routed to Cohere.
Managing your website domain from Website Builder
In addition to the Domains tab, you can manage your primary website domain directly from My Account, Website.
The My Platform Domain panel shows your current website URL with these options:
- Copy. Copy the URL to your clipboard.
- Edit (pencil icon). Switch between your Cohere subdomain and any verified custom domain.
- Connect Your Domain. Available when you have not yet verified a website domain.
- Manage Domains. Opens the new Domains tab.
When you edit, the dropdown only includes domains verified for Website + Landing Pages. Landing Pages Only domains are not eligible to be set as your primary website domain.
Quick FAQ
How is this different from connecting a domain for email marketing?
The Email Marketing setup connects your domain for sending emails (for example, hello@yourname.com). The Website + Landing Pages and Landing Pages Only setups connect your domain for your Cohere services website, service landing pages, and lead magnets. You can do both on the same domain or on different domains.
Can I use the same domain for email and landing pages?
Yes. When you complete the Email Marketing setup, you can optionally continue into Landing Page Setup on the same domain. You can also add landing pages to a domain later from the Domains tab.
What is the difference between Website + Landing Pages and Landing Pages Only?
Website + Landing Pages uses your full domain (yourname.com) for both your Cohere website and landing pages. Landing Pages Only uses a subdomain (go.yourname.com) for landing pages while your main website stays hosted elsewhere.
Why does Landing Pages Only require a subdomain?
Because your main website is hosted somewhere else, your root domain needs to keep pointing to that website. A subdomain like go.yourname.com lets you serve Cohere landing pages without conflicting with your main site.
How long does verification take?
Usually a few minutes, but in some cases up to 24 hours depending on your domain provider. Cohere automatically checks your DNS and updates the status once verification succeeds.
